Once Burned, where is it in the timeline? Does it tie to Cat & Bones? Basically do I need to be up-to-date on the other series before I read once burned?

Hey QC. The story is a part of the Night Huntress universe. I have not read the book yet, but from what I heard others say it can stand alone.

In my opinion, and without having read the book myself YET, I would say you should read the Night Huntress Books first, so you get to know Vlad a little better. I think Once Burned is the next installment in the timeline...sort of like how her second series, Night Huntress World (with Spade and Denise) and how they fit into the Cat/Bones story. Once Burned is the start of a new spin off series called Night Prince. They will be about Vlad and Leila. The Night Huntress World is about different characters, and of course the Night Huntress is mainly Cat & Bones.
I really think you can read Once Burned without reading the others if you wanted to. The book only briefly mentions Cat & Bones, but it has nothing to do with this book or their series. The book really goes into detail about Vlad and his history so you won't be missing anything. I think the books in the Night Huntress World would've been hard to read without reading Night Huntress series first because they mention lots of characters from the first series. Oh I read it a few weeks ago, when I finally bought it, and was NOT disappointed. I LOVED it.
