So, we all read 50 Shades, and have our opinion about the story.
This series started a reading frenzy for 'Mommy porn'--have you heard this term?
If you haven't, it's basically the green light for average women to read erotic romance in public...now it's ok to have naked men on the cover of your latest novel, and not have to hide the cover.

The newest (to me, anyway) book on this train is "Bared to You" by Sylvia Day. I stayed up til 2am last night finishing it.

I liked it--it had a little bit of 50 Shades (she's a new admin, he's the richest/hottest man in the world thing) of course with different emotional baggage. I got a little tired of Eva running away and them always having mind-blowing sex (really? EVERY time?) but I still enjoyed reading it.

So, have you succumbed to the mommy porn movement?

I like to read as long as there is some sort of story. I get bored with "I made him toast, and we went at it like rabid bunnies On the kitchen table, then after breakfast he bent me over the sink while I was brushing my teeth, then five minutes after that he spanked my ass with a rubber chicken....The End" I like some steamy sex, but definitely need a little substance in my stories!

I don't think I'm part of the mommy porn movement. I haven't even read 50 shades. Erotica is not my favorite, I don't read it very often. I like hot sex wrapped up in a good story, rather than a weak story stuffed between sex scenes. As to the covers, I will always enjoy the hotties on my covers, but I think I'll keep them for my eyes only.

I was a member of the mommy porn movement before there was one. I love erotica as long as there is a story to go along with it. I think with the surge in popularity since the horrid 50 Shades books, there are many more great books in the genre. When readers demand longer, better stories, the author are bound to deliver.

Love the new avi's ladies!! Unfortunately I have not been able to read 50 shades yet, but have no shame in any of my book covers that I read in public and that was well before 50 shades came out.

Ugh i must admit as much as i hate to say it i have enjoyed reading some of the 'mommy porn' books. Fifty shades wasnt that good, none of them have really made me think 'Wow' like the BDB series did but ok to read just day to day.


The thing that is really annoying me is them all coming out in three parts which are sold like 3 months apart... that just pisses me off, in fact if i know the other parts arent out yet i wont even read it.

I live across the ocean and even HERE 50 shades is popular... I'm like Hu??? Especially knowing the translated edition will suck big time! I can't read any books that have been translated anymore... Give me the original English versions please!

But I think it's quite funny seeing those books popup on talkshows and stuff... I told my hubby that if those movies are out he has to go and see them with me ;-) Not sure if they will be worth it but who knows.. They might be better than the books???

I'm currently reading a lot more romantic suspense / erotic books than paranormal stuff, not a particular reason but I do love me some romantic suspense with an page turning story! And of course there has to be some hot sex involved! :-)

And I'm not ashamed to tell people about the books I read... Basically, most can't even read them over my shoulder since I only read them in English and not everybody knows their English so well over here :-)

It does seem like a lot of good romantic suspense has come out lately Q. I've added quite a bit to my tbr.

I haven't read 50 shades but more because I can't see spending that kind of money on something I've heard is only meh. That said, haven't most of us been reading what could be termed mommy porn for awhile now? Chridtian Grey may not have fangs but think on some rather infamous scenes like the Night Huntress series with Cat and Bones or Vishous and Jane in BDB. Have you all heard that Dr. Drew on CNN thinks we all need help for reading books like this?

I have not heard this, nor do I know who Dr. Drew is.
However, it sounds to me like he needs to get laid. By a woman who loves reading said porn, and let's see what he has to say then.
