Hello everyone! I'm not exactly sure how these forums work on here, but I just wanted to introduce myself by my author name, Nikkola Walsh, and tell you a little bit about my first novel Bound by Blood. I'm a born and raised South Carolinian, but I first wanted my book based somewhere else, like a flashy city for instance, but I thought against it. I wanted a bit of a history and hometown feel to my book so I ended up basing it in SC and I'm glad I did. I feel like I can take the story in a lot of places from that angle because it's one I'm familiar with. It does go more in the YA category since my protagonist is a 17-year-old girl, but there's a lot of sensuality involved along with sexual innuendo so in the description of the book I suggested the readers be 17 and older. Later on in the series it does become a little more "adult" (though the situations aren't pornographic in the least, although depending on tastes, so may disagree *shrugs*), but my characters do get older and find themselves in more adult situations. Right now it's only available on smashwords.com and amazon.com, only digital, no paperbacks.  |

welcome, Mikkola! It's not often you meet someone actually from South Carolina. I live in North Carolina, and it's always a novelty to meet a native. There are so many transplants in this area (and I'm a transplant myself!) Welcome to the forum. |
