Hunted is the first book of The Gates Legacy series. Harrow Gates is being hunted by the Vampire Council because he has a disease that is being spread through the vampire community. He is not aware that the disease originated with him until he is captured by a secret facility searching for a cure.
I loved the character of Harrow Gates. In the beginning I was sympathetic to his character, but as I read on sympathy turned to attraction, there is more to Harrow than meets the eye. Jordan is a newly turned vampire with a tragic story about how she came to be. She has been isolated, alone, and hell bent on revenge. Harrow and Jordan’s initial meeting was more than a bit rocky, but it is hard to fight good chemistry! The other characters in the book are equally as fascinating, and only added value to the read.
There were times the book lagged for me because of the information overload. I was not at all discouraged because the first book in a new series is often this way. Once I really settled down and got into my groove I didn’t want to put the book down! This is a well written story with a really good premise. Font gave the readers a change from the usual vampire story, and that is always refreshing. This was a nice start to what promises to be a great series. The depth of the characters and a great plot will draw any vampire fan!
