Terry Spear PhotoLadies and Gentlemen, please welcome back to VRB, the amazingly talented Terry Spear! (insert my fan girl scream here) Yes, it’s no secret that Terry is one of my all time favorites and of course I’m always beyond excited when she comes by for a visit. This week Terry will be releasing the latest in her wolf series, A Highland Werewolf Wedding and is out touring the blog world to share it with everyone. I was lucky enough to get a sneak peak and I’m going to let you in on a little secret…..This book Rocks! Loved it!

Anyway, with all the Highland books that Terry Spear has written it got me thinking, what exactly is it that makes a Highlander so damn sexy? Well I asked Terry if she would give us her thoughts on that and she’s written us a great guest post about that very thing. Did I mention that she is also giving one very lucky commenter their very own copy of A Howl for a Highlander? You can’t win it if you don’t comment though!

Those Sexy Highlanders

by Terry Spear

Rhonda wanted me to write about what makes us drool over Highlanders—what makes them so damn sexy? Is it their kilt—bare chest, bare legs, going Regimental—their term for butt-naked?! Or their sexy Highland brogue? Or the stereotypical brawniness? In the Scotland way—they are totally braw.

It’s got to be all of the above—don’t you think?

And then add that paranormal element—the werewolf, and you’ve got the ultimate man feast.

Just think of it. He’s protective—carries a sword to weddings to protect his bride-to-be, wears a kilt, and you’re just dying to know what’s underneath it, hoping for a big gust of wind, and in Scotland, it can be really blustery, and then…he winks at you—knowing just where your mind has wandered.

Yep. Braw, Highland, warrior, yum.

But we haven’t even gotten to the way he talks to you, aye? That brogue is so delicious, even if you canna understand half of what he says. And when he speaks in Gaelic, he could be cursing, but you can pretend he’s sharing sweet nothings to get you in the mood…and smile.

If you’re smart, you’ll get him to remove his shirt so he doesn’t get it wet in the rain. And then you can talk him into stripping down to run as a wolf. Who says women can’t be just as wily as the Highland hunks?

Then you’ll know for sure just what a delicious treat you’re in for if the two of you decide to get to know each other better.

But wait, remember, if you’re a wolf, and he’s a wolf, there are limits to what you two can do. It all has to do with wolves mating for a lifetime. Some rules can’t be broken. And really, who would want to break them?

I have to say that as wolves, he will lose his Scottish brogue, along with his kilt. But that’s okay because he’s still totally protective. Not that you won’t use your teeth on something or someone who might want to harm either of you also.

And then it’s back to being human—he’s all hunky naked Highlander—having lost the kilt, shirt, sword, etc. And you’re kind of in the same situation. The problem when wolves have their clothes stolen, and so, what’s a girl to do?

Move in with him in his castle. Now the problem with that is that Scottish castles often have ghosts. And Cearnach’s cousin likes the ladies. Too much.

Which means? You need a protector in the flesh. If you scream, no telling who all will come to your protection. Lots of hunky Highlanders waving swords, no doubt.

A girl could sure dream.

So what do you find attractive about a Highlander??? Ready to share his big bed in an ancient castle in Scotland???

One commenter has the chance to win a copy of A Howl for a Highlander, US or Canada address only. Thanks to Rhonda and all of you at Vampire Romance Books for having me back! Hope you love Highlanders as much as I love writing about them!

Men in kilts *fans self.* I am a huge fan of your books and will be attending Romcon with Rhonda this year, she has probably warned you about me, I’m the Albertan that will be poking her in the arm whispering “omg is that Terry Spears?” I love, love, love your books and I am in awe of your talent. Authors are my rockstars so I’ll be the one screaming in the crowd and making a fool of myself.

  3. Olivia says:

Hi Terry! Thanks for blogging here today. Kilts are the sexiest thing a man can wear. It’s amazing how they make men look manly. Absolutely nothing better on a handsome young man. They are very forgiving to older mens figures to. I think they give the older gents a noble air.
I’ll be at the Texas Scottish Festival this weekend and you can bet I’ll be eyeing all the kilts.
Combining kilts and werewolves was a stroke of genius. Small wonder your books are so successful. Keep it up. Looking forward to reading the jaguars too.

Long time fan of Terry Spear’s sexy alpha’s. I love the way she combines the paranormal, intrigue, humor and a lot of steamy loving into wonderfully entertaining reads time after time, and I have yet to see one of her covers that didn’t require me to turn on the A/C.

  12. KimberleyC says:

I love the accent, the thought of the kilt and what is or isn’t hidden underneath. lol

  13. Sarina Hermann says:

OH!!! So cool!! And delicious! I bet it’s always fun to have a wee bit of a scream, just to see who’ll come running and in what state of dress. *winks* or undress for that matter. Just make sure you have cameras ready, with a good ole video camera so that you can re-watch the moment.

  14. Terry Spear says:

Ah, Monica, thanks so much!! I’m sending you a wolf. He’s all for a wolf girl. :) And when he’s not being all wolf, he’s definitely wearing a kilt, just for you. :) And when he uses that Scottish burr on you…watch out. :)

Cindy, lol, double yum is right. :) It’s like the hot fudge sundae with the cherry on top. All those layers of delicious. :)

Bonnie, lol!!! I’ll go with you!!!

Sebella Blue, those covers are hotness, aren’t they??? I just wish I could be there on the shoots. Spritzing water on them. Oiling them up. You know, because under all those hot lights, they need some cooling down. :) I’m thrilled you’re enjoying the books!!! They’re just too much fun to write!

Kimberley, lol, you naughty girl. :) My kind of gal! Want to go with me to Scotland and see???

Sarina, lol, YES, video camera. One shot stills are great, but catching all the action? Even better!!! :)

  15. Janie McGaugh says:

Just about everything is to love, but the kilt, the brawn, and the brogue are the most important things.
