My Familiar Stranger was a really fun read for me; it had parallel dimensions, knights, vampires, and elves. Elora is sent to another dimension after witnessing the slaughter of her family. After a really bad trip, she finds herself severely injured and in the hands of an order of knights whose job it is to keep humans safe from the vampire population.
This novel has so many memorable characters. Elora is beautiful and strong, she also has a lot of heart. Storm is gorgeous, thoughtful, and a born leader. Baka is a very old vampire; he is tired of life and misses his family. He wants a real life and turns himself over to help the order in their quest to hunt vampires. My favorite character was Ram, although he had to grow on me in the beginning. He is an elf, who is energetic, outspoken, and a hopeless flirt. He had me laughing out loud more than once!
I wasn’t sure about the book in the beginning, as it moved a little slow for me, but when it picked up I was glued to the pages. There was blooming romance, plenty of action, and a group of characters I was excited to follow. I was enthralled with the well-written storyline, and was disappointed when the book came to the end. The Order of the Black Swan is definitely a series I want to continue!
Minutes ahead of inevitable assassination, Elora Laiken is forcibly transported to an alternate dimension similar, but not identical, to her own. She is stranded. Alone. Far from home. A stranger in a “strangish” land.
Of course a girl could suffer worse problems than having gorgeous suitors. Perhaps more importantly, in the midst of an epidemic of vampire related abductions, can she stay alive long enough to choose between an honor debt, true love, or the breathlessness of single-minded passion?
My Familiar Stranger is a full length, stand alone, Paranormal/Fantasy Romance novel that also sets up the foundation for the Black Swan series. It is loved by fans of paranormal romance, fantasy romance, and urban fantasy.
