Please help me welcome the wonderful Amanda J. Greene to VRB. I had the pleasure of reviewing Amanda’s first book Caressed by Moonlight last year and have just recently read he second book in the Rulers of Darkness series, Caressed by Night. If you haven’t read the Rulers of Darkness series, you don’t know what you’re missing! Amanda has stopped by and shared a steamy excerpt from Caressed by Night between the intoxicating Dimitri and his mate Kerstyn.

Thank you to Vampire Romance Books for hosting me today.

I was so happy to see that this site my first stops on my Caressed by Night (Rulers of Darkness #2) release blog tour. Vampire Romance Books was the first site to ever give me a review. Around the beginning of the year, last year, I was looking to promote my first release, Caressed by Moonlight (Rulers of Darkness #1). I had no idea what I was doing or even how I would get my name out into the large world of romance. I was nervous when Vampire Romance Books agreed to review my work and was ecstatic when I received a wonderful review. Thank you!

Well, here I am again, with my second release, Caressed by Night. Like before, vampires are my supernatural creature of choice, hence my appearance here on this blog. Who doesn’t find the idea of a drop dead gorgeous, alpha male with fangs and an insatiable appetite (wink wink) appealing? I sure do! Dimitri Arsov is tall, blond, with diamond eyes – the image of the Norse god of thunder, Thor. He is smart, sexy, and a vampire. His need for his mate, Kerstyn, and his drive for revenge fuel this paranormal romance. Want a little peek? (Warning! Excerpt is a bit steamy)

Kerstyn was lost within her sea of pleasure. Her body burned for him, for release. Her breath came hard as her heart thundered. She wanted him to take her here, to claim her, to mark her.

Dimitri’s lust consumed him and threatened to carry him over the edge. The beast wanted her, needed her, in every way. The combination of her racing pulse and pleasurable sighs was the sweetest sound he had ever heard. He could almost taste her blood, her very life. God, how he wanted it, just one tiny droplet. All he had to do was sink his fangs into the tender column of her throat.

Remember, the beast whispered. Hunger. Remember. Blood, so rich, so sweet, so satisfying. One taste, it urged.

His hunger raging, his body burning with need, Dimitri grazed her skin. An unearthly growl filled the room and rumbled the walls.

“Yes,” Kerstyn whispered.

He lowered his head and stepped forward. He captured her hands and flattened her palms against the wall.

“Keep them there,” he ordered, his voice sensuous and menacing.

His fingers smoothly ran up her arms. One hand tunneled through her hair, the other slid down her torso to fill the space between her hips. He tugged on her hair, tilting her head to the side and exposing her pulse where it danced teasingly just below her flesh.

Thank you for visiting with us today Amanda. Here’s to many more successful book releases. Cheers!

Here is my review of Caressed by Night and also the review for the first book in the Rulers of Darkness series, Caressed by Moonlight.

Caressed by Night is the second book in Amanda J. Greene’s Rulers of Darkness series. Like the first book in the series, Caressed by Moonlight, Caressed by Night is filled with unforgettable characters that jump off the page and grab hold of your heart. When I first started reading Caressed by Night, I was surprised to see that it took place in present day since the first book in the series was set in the 1800’s. Amanda Greene has really shown her fantastic writing skills by taking a series that started as a “historical” vampire romance and flawlessly continued the series with a second book that takes place 200 years later.   I was pleased to see that Dorian and Victoria from the first book make an appearance and other characters from their book play a part in this story as well.

Dimitri Arsov, King of the Arsov Clan, is an intoxicatingly powerful and sexy vampire. As the last remaining pure-blood, his powers are beyond anyone’s imagination, yet his heart is so fragile and without his mate, Kerstyn, he would be lost. Ms. Greene has a way of writing her vampires that while they are powerful, they have many qualities that make them vulnerable emotionally.  Each and every character has their own story to tell, and while the book focuses on Dimitri and Kerstyn, we learn many things about the other characters, vampire history, and get a clear picture of how all these Rulers of Darkness have been linked together in the past and will work together in the future to continue to build this wonderful world that Ms. Greene has created.

Caressed by Night is full of sizzling passion, deeply addictive characters, and a storyline that refuses to leave you long after the story ends. There is so much left to tell in this series I simply can’t wait to see what Amanda Greene has next in store for all these sexy Rulers of Darkness.

Here is our review of Caressed by Midnight, the first book in the Rulers of Darkness series that we happily featured last year.

A wonderful debut novel in the Rulers of Darkness series, Amanda J Greene’s Caressed by Moonlight takes us back in time when rumors and opinions from high society were enough to ruin a “lady”. I loved Victoria’s character because of her strength and wit. I found myself laughing at the way she continually put Dorian in his place even though he is such a powerful vampire used to being respected and feared. The relationship that starts as a matter of necessity and lust turns in to a love that can stand against any adversity. The secondary characters are all fascinating and worthy of their own books. I would love to read more about Falcon, Raphael, Jacques, and Sonya. Caressed by Moonlight is a story that any lover of romance literature will enjoy, whether you’re a vampire fan or not. The vampire part just makes it all the more enjoyable!

Woo its hot in here! That is some steamy stuff! I really love the alpha male and from what you get in that scene he sure does seem to fit the bill. It looks as though I must add your two books to my list… and soon! Your little excerpt has left me wanting more.

What made you start writing your ideas down? Aside from your love of Vamps, what made you decide to go paranormal?? Exerpt is amazing, I will most definitely be checking out your books 😀

Rochelle, thank you for your post. I’m happy to see you enjoyed the excerpt. So far, Dimitri is my favorite in this series…but as I work more on book 3…that may change.

Wow nice little sneak peak! Love the alpha male pride /mate scenario…Amanda I’ll be adding your books to my TBR list. I can’t wait to start reading more “adult” scenes. Thanks for sharing!

Jessica, I began writing my ideas down because I would have an “aha! That is an awesome idea!” moment. I actually have a bunch of books started – word.doc is full! I just need to find the time to link my ideas together and publish them. Hopefully, I will in the future. Right now, life is a bit crazy – school, work, family, and writing!
I fell in love with vampires a long time ago and that love has grown into an obsession – one I am not every going to even try to kick. Werewolves, shape-shifters, and any other paranormal creature (if written well) I LOVE! I’m not entirely sure what drew me to paranormal romance. Perhaps it’s the idea of a supernatural world filled with mystery, danger, and hot guys lol
    Thanks for the questions.

  6. Ariel says:

ooooh man that’s some hot stuff!! I love a good alpha who likes to use the wall, and pull hair 🙂
Great excerpt–thank you for sharing it; now I have to read the rest of your books!!

Thank you for stopping in to visit with us.
If you could give a face to your characters, someone to play them in a movie, who would you choose for Dimitri?

  7. Amanda J. Greene says:

Ariel, I would pick the hottie that played Thor – Chris Hemsworth. yum!

  8. Rhonda Valverde says:

Having read both the books, I have to agree that Dimitri is my favorite so far. However, I’m very intrigued by Hadrian and Gabriel too. Do you know yet who will be in the next book?

  9. Amanda J. Greene says:

Rhonda, I am currently working on book 3, pausing here and there to pop in and comment 😀 Gabriel is/is going to be an amazing character and when the series is done, I think he might just be my fave. It is hard to pick since all these men plague my mind lol I’ve already got the back cover blurb finished by book 3, though I need to wait for the book itself to get a little further along before I share it.

  10. Teresa says:

Welcome back to VRB Amanda! I can’t wait to start reading!
