Amanda Ashley’s books are delightful, uncomplicated reads. The two I’ve read prior, Dead Sexy and Night’s Touch, certainly were, and so is her upcoming Dead Perfect (2/2008).
In Dead Perfect, the young and lovely Shannah Davis is dying from a mysterious blood ailment, one that her doctors haven’t been able to identify, and she is spending the waning days of her life in a most unusual fashion — following a man she thinks may be a vampire. Tall, dark and handsome, and seen only at night, she’s convinced he’s a member of the undead, and is contemplating whether or not he might just have the power to save her life. A knock on man’s door reveals a somewhat different possibility, however, while his kiss ignites in her a vitality unlike she’s ever before known. The centuries-old Ronan is in a similar predicament as Shannah fills his life with a light and liveliness he’s not known in a very long time, and a hunger nigh unto unbearable — hunger for her scent, her taste, her touch … for her.
I really enjoyed this sweet little love story. It’s romantic and witty with elements of danger and suspense, though they are not the focal point. Ronan’s secret occupation was a little surprise that made me smile, for many reasons, but I won’t write about it here.
Have you read Dead Perfect? If so, feel free to post a comment and let us know what you think.

I don’t know…this was the first Amanda Ashley book I have ever read and will probably be my last. I found the plot and characters cliche and not very well-developed. I had a hard time even finishing the book. It was sheer determination to see it to the end that allowed me to finish reading it. It’s certainly not the worst book I have ever read, but with so many different vampire books out these days, there are better stories for me to spend my money and time reading. Sorry to those of you who really liked the book and the author. I really tried to like it–honest– but in the end I just couldn’t.

I’ve always loved Amanda Ashley’s books and I’ve just finished reading Dead Perfect. I did enjoy the book very much – though if I’m being honest, I was a little disappointed. There were questions left unanswered and also small mistakes were made that surely would have been spotted with another draft. The ending seemed very rushed too, like she wasn’t quite sure where to go with it. In fact thinking on it now, the whole book seemed slighty rushed.
It certainly hasn’t put me off, and I will buy more but this was definitely not up to her usual high standards.

I literaly did not put the book down once i beggan to read. I mean who wouldn’t want to fall in love with a vampire that writes romance novels for a living, lavishes you with only the best, and doesn’t tear out your neck, i could do that for centies!

This book was light without the really dark elements that sometimes creep into the vampire genre if you want a romantic book that just makes you say ahhh with little surprises along the way than its a great read,
