Gabriel and Niccola were good characters, but agreed, not as intense as previous leads. However, being a huge Darkyn fan, a continued story line about Michael and Alexandra kept my full attention! I thought the Nightlands and cryptic dream images were different and interesting and was pleasantly surprised by Niccola’s secret uncovered in the end. The excerpt from Viehl’s next novel Evermore has me looking forward to what lies in store for Byrne and Jayr. A relationship between a Darkyn and his seneschal have me intrigued.
