Caridad Pineiro's latest in The Calling vampire romance series, Devotion Calls (Nocturne), made its debut on the first day of the year. Check it out…

A synopsis: In Spanish Harlem, real danger comes in nonhuman form. A night stalker haunts the barrio, feeding its insatiable hunger, craving the humanity only healer Ricardo Fernandez can give him. For Ricardo is cursed with the ability to heal, and hurt, by touch – a talent he hides behind the practice of Santeria. Sara Martinez knows there's no such thing as faith healing, until Ricardo's gifts become her last hope. And Ricardo's passion becomes something she can't live without. But when the night stalker uses Sara as bait, Ricardo must choose between two evils: lose the woman he loves or lose himself to the darkness of his powers.

Ms. Pineiro will be VampireRomanceBooks.com's featured author in February, so stay tuned to VRB.com for an interview with one of the genre's most popular authors!

Lover Revealed by J.R. WardWhile looking for author blog links on the web, I see that J.R. Ward's fourth installment in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series,
Lover Revealed
, is slated for release in March. I'm salivating already and personally want to thank Ms. Ward for her wonderfully written books. I hadn't read a romance book in ages until a friend recommended Ward's Dark Lover. I devoured it and its two sequels, Lover Eternal and Lover Awakened, with absolute delight, enjoying the paranormal twist on the romance genre, which makes total sense coming from a fan of The X-Files and science fiction in general. It's safe to say I'll be watching the bookstand for
Lover Revealed
. I can't wait to get my hands on it and find out what she has in store for the beloved Brothers.

As 2006 prepared to make its bow, Colleen Gleason, author of the newly published Gardella Vampire Chronicles, graciously agreed to answer a series of questions for VampireRomanceBooks.com to introduce herself and her writing to vampire romance book readers. In truth, it is Colleen who inspired this feature at VRB.com and we thought it only fitting that she be our first interview – and Miss January to boot! And, as if January 2, 2007, couldn't get any better for Colleen, her first book in the Gardella series, The Rest Falls Away hits shelves today. Congratulations, Colleen, and thank you! Now, without further ado … An Interview with Colleen Gleason
